About Department

The Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, CAET, Godhrais one of the leading Department of CAET, Godhra under the Anand Agricultural University, Anand since year 2008. Department staff members are delivering quality education to UG & PG students pertaining to FMPE as well as involved in quality research by keeping pace with the changing needs of Agricultural education and industries related to tractors & agricultural machineries along with different extension activities. The priorities for these are decided as per actual agricultural needs of the region, which are still far away from the recent technological developments in farm mechanization sector. Department is also enriched with a wide number of instruments and machineries required to conduct academicand research work. The department is endeavoring its best efforts for imparting quality education, generating competent and skilled manpower in the fast-evolving global scenario and to develop technologies through qualitative research in the relevant area for helping the farmers through  sustainable agriculture and rural development.

Mandate / Objectives

  • To impart quality technological knowledge in the field of farm machinery to produce professionally well prepared agricultural engineers.
    Development, modification & adaptation of agricultural machines and farm power equipments for various agricultural operations suitable for this region. 
    To cope up with the futuristic technologies for automation in different operations.
    Reduction in drudgery involved in various farm operations through farm mechanization.
    To carry out different extension activities for the capacity building of farmers, rural youth and other extension functionaries to enhance the farm mechanization

Department Activities

  • To teach various courses to B.Tech.(Agril. Engg.) students.
  • To offer PG degree programmes (M. Tech. and Ph.D.).
  • To run certificate course on “Vocational Course on Agricultural Engineering & Technology”.
  • To carry out various research through AGRESCO projects.
  • To carry out various training, demonstrations and other extension activities.

Salient Achievements of the Department

  • Till date 62 B. Tech. students completed their project in the Department.
  • Till date 27 M. Tech. students and 8 Ph.D. students successfully completed their degree.
  • 18 AGRESCO projects has been successfully completed
  • Total 16 recommendations for farming community and 01 for scientific community has been given by the department.
  • One patent has been filed from the department.
  • Successfully completed a project funded by ADP, GoG.
  • More than 20 training/demonstrations/seminar etc. extension activities were organized by the faculty members of the Department.
  • Two best teachers award has been received by department faculty.
