Name of the center : Sheth D.M. Agricultural School, Model Farm, Vadodara.

Year of establishment : 1937

History

The idea of starting the school was first conceived in the year 1936 as a result of getting a good amount of donation of Rs. 50,000/- from smt. Jashumatiben in the memory of her beloved husband sheth Dosabhai Maganbhai for this institution.

Different classes on Agricultural and Horticulture were held at this institute. Primary teachers and military persons were given training to improved method of agricultural practices. This was continued until 1949. When the Baroda State was merged with Bombay state, consequently the one-year courses for marking uniform pattern in whole state.

From June 1972, Gujarat Agricultural University came in to existence and all the agricultural schools are transferred to Agricultural University. Form 1^st may 2003 Gujarat Agricultural University divide into four Agricultural University and Anand Agricultural University came in to existence and all middle Gujarat Agricultural Schools are transferred to Anand Agricultural University.

Objectives of the Center

To impart practical training to young farmers (farmers son) in Agricultural technology for the period of two years. After completion this course they go to their farm (Village) and utilize their knowledge in the improvement of their farming, thus, this training will be held them to increase their farm production and farm income.

1. To impart theoretical and practical know –how of agricultural technology to children of farmers in middle Gujarat

2. To confer the 'Diploma of Agriculture certificate to the students after successful completion of two years.

Eligibility criterion	Eligibility of diploma course is S.S.C. passed boys.
Admission seats	30 Seats
Admission details	A student was passed S.S.C. Examination is eligible for this course. Admission given on the merits basis of S.S.C. five percents waitages are given farmers sons and two percents for agriculture subjects in S.S.C. Duration of course : 2 yrs. Commencement : End of July- August

Students reservation	Rules and regulation of Gujarat Govt. applied for reservation of SC,ST and OBC Details information about reservation given below. ▪ Schedule Cast 7% ▪ Schedule Tribe 15% ▪ Other Backward Classes 27% ▪ P.H.Students 3%
Scholarship	Schedule cast, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward class scholarship given by the Govt. of Gujarat as per rules and regulation. The students other than these three casts, the university gives Rs. 190/- per month stipend on the basis of presence.

2.	Hostel.	:	Hostel for two years students. In the hostel total 20 rooms, one kitchen hall, dining hall, Latrine & bathroom facility.
