The idea of starting the
school was first conceived in the year 1936 as a result
of getting a good amount of donation of Rs. 50,000/- from smt.
Jashumatiben in the memory of her beloved husband sheth Dosabhai
Maganbhai for this institution.
Different
classes on Agricultural and Horticulture were held at this
institute. Primary teachers and military persons were given
training to improved method of agricultural practices. This was
continued until 1949. When the Baroda State was merged with
Bombay state, consequently the one-year courses for marking
uniform pattern in whole state.
From June 1972,
Gujarat Agricultural University came in to existence and all
the agricultural schools are transferred to Agricultural
University. Form 1st may 2003 Gujarat Agricultural
University divide into four Agricultural University and Anand
Agricultural University came in to existence and all middle
Gujarat Agricultural Schools are transferred to Anand
Agricultural University.
To organize short and
long-term vocational training courses in agriculture and
allied vocations for the farmers and rural youths with
emphasis on "learning by doing' for higher production on
farms and generating self-employment.

demonstrations on various crops to generate production
data and feedback information

To organize training to
update the extension personnel with emerging advances in
agricultural research on regular basis.

To undertake "On-farm
testing" for identifying technologies in terms of
location specific sustainable land use systems.
