Way back in 1975, Gujart Agricultural University setup this
institution in memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who dared the
Indian farmers to dream of being a part of the county’s
prosperity. His devotion and loyalty to his country, his
obligation to his fellow countrymen, his knowledge of economic
and political situation and all his fearlessness made him a
unique leader our country. Being a son of a farmer, he employed
so many beneficial strategies for the upliftment of farmers
through out his life. Considering the objectives of this
institution, it if
sptly name as SARDAR SMRUTI KENDRA.
Motto
To empower the
rural communities, particularly the under privileged farmers and
farm women to have control over their own livelihood and manage
their occupation to create better economic condition.

in view, Sardar Smruti Kendra carries out its Mission through
the Information wing, Training Wing and Exhibition Wing.
Activities

To
organize training programmes for various categories of
farmers who are connected with agriculture.

To
collect the up-to-date information on agriculture and
allied fields.

To
prepare agricultural research based information in form
of leaflets, folders and booklets.

To
suggest the solutions to the problem of the farmers in
concurrence with related scientist, either in person or
through correspondence.

To
participate in agricultural exhibition and agricultural
fair organized by university time to time for
exposure of new agricultural technologies.

To
arrange method demonstration, video show and SATKRU programme.

To
exhibit Sardar Patel’s life as role model and display
advance agricultural technologies in form of charts,
photographs, models and specimens etc.
Facilities

To provide lodging and boarding facilities to the trainees, a
well equipped hostel (“TRIBHOVAN KRUSHIKAR CHHATRALAY”)
has been established. Thirty trainees can be
accommodated comfortably in this hostel.

To show
modern agricultural advancement and to give them a feel
of patriotism through out Sardar Patel’s life,
exhibition has been set-up in the center.
