Introduction :

The Tribal Research Cum Training Centre was established at Devgadh Baria in the year of 1977 at the Palace donated by Late Maharaja Jaideep Singh of Baria State with the objective of the over all development and betterment of Tribal  farmers through training on Agricultural, Horticulture, Animal husbandry, Poultry etc.The centre has approximately 8 hectares of land and is in the initial stage of development

Name of the Scheme :

1. Tribal Research cum Training Centre .

2. Scheme for Research in Oilseed and pulse crops for tribal area.

3. Strengthening Research in  Maize Project.

4. Improving Research Facilities in Cotton.

5. Tribal Women Training Centre.

6. Genetic Enhancement  & Production Technology of Major Crops(Soybean)  in Tribal Areas.

 

Objective of the Scheme :

  1. To impart knowledge and production skills in crop production, horticulture, farm forestry, Animal husbandry, poultry keeping, apiculture, health and audition etc to the tribal farm women.

  2. To provide vocational training in agro-based cottage industries to tribal farm women families so as to improve their income and make them lead better quality of life.

  3. To educate the tribal farm women families to use appropriate low cost and low risk technologies  in the farm and homes.

  4. To diversify the use of labour in lean period through subsidiary enterprises like livestock farming, poultry keeping, apiculture, mushroom cultivation, rabbit rearing, collection of minor forest products, etc..To identify the social customs, norms and beliefs of the tribal which act as turner in adoption of new technologies and to influence the change in their traditional out look.

  5. To conduct need based training programme for tribal farm women, including young tribal daughters and tribal landless women laborers.          

  6. To conduct the training programme as per needs of voluntary organizations/cooperative societies  etc. working in the tribal area subject to convenience of the training centre.

  7. Collection and documentation of ITK of the district.

            1. Organizing tribal farm women science clubs in adopted villages.

            2.  Publication of farm literature for dissemination of recommended technologies. 

 
On farmers field  Demonstration :
  1. Strengthening Adaptive Research in all Agro climatic zones of the State.

  2. Farmer’s Participating Action Research Programmed (F.P.A.R.Ps).
