Agriculture has been and will continue to be the lifeline of the Indian
economy. Being the backbone of agro based industry it contributes one third
to the national GDP. Globalization of agri product marketing has brought an
unprecedented opening and therefore requires a paradigm shift. Agribusiness
system has also undergone a rapid transformation with integrated activities
in terms of production, procurement, processing, distribution, marketing and
export. The major commodities of agri export from India are cereals, fruits,
fruits pulps, juice, vegetables and other products having the share of 20%
of total export. In order to cater the above needs and specialized
education in agribusiness management, the AAU has taken a leap foreward to
provide the Post Graduate Programme of M.B.A. (International
Agribusiness). The programme aims to produce business leaders,
professional managers and entrepreneurs in food and agribusiness sector.

Project work consists of Major Advisor/Chairman & three other
members from elective fields of specialization.
INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT:
Students are
required to undergo "Practical Training: with a business concern"
during summer vacation after the second semester and submit a
report. The purpose of this assignment is to expose the students to
the practical aspects of business management and to provide first
hand exposure to the functioning of the organization.
MANAGEMENT TRAINEESHIP:
The traineeship is designed to provide the
students with an opportunity to work closely with experienced
managers in an organizational setting. Every student will select a
research project in his/her field of specialization in consultation
with the advisor/ head of the department and will submit a written
project report.
PROJECT WORK:
Project work will
have to be completed in a business house of International repute
either in India or abroad. During third semester he/she will have to
develop contact, review literature and survey market and submit
preliminary market survey report for evaluation. After six months of
project in business house, he/she will have to submit a final
project report for evaluation.
Selection Procedure:
Students will have to appear for the
entrance test and Merit list will be prepared on the basis of an
Entrance test comprising of English, General knowledge, Analytical
Reasoning and Management Aptitude followed by Group discussion (GD)
and Personal Interview(PI).

A
candidate should possess Bachelor's degree (10+2+4) in Agriculture
and Allied Sciences (Veterinary & A.H./Dairy Science/Agricultural
Engineering & Technology/Food Processing Technology/ Forestry/
Horticulture/Fisheries Science and Home Science with an O.G.P.A. of
6.0/10.00 or 60% or equivalent in aggregate (relaxable OGPA to
5.5/10.00 or 55% for SC/ST candidates) from recognized university.
