The University is a purely residential
University and imparts education under semester
system. All students are residents of the
University hostel, except otherwise permitted.
The Admission notice is published in leading
Gujarati and English news papers near the date
of declaration of results of Higher Secondary
School Certificate Examination, On receipt of
applications merit list is prepared at
University level by the Registrar.
Candidates are selected for admission strictly
on merit based on the marks obtained by them in
the Higher Secondary, School Certificate
Examination subject to availability of seats and
they being medically/ physically fit and or
passed any other test as decided by the
University. The interview is taken by the
Admission Committee of Dean, Associate Deans and
Registrar based on merit list. The merit of
candidate shall be determined as per relevant
norms prescribed by the University as under :
The merit order shall be decided on the basis of
Academic Regulations of B: Sc. (Agri.), B. V.
Sc. and A. H., B. Tech. (Agril. Engg.), B. Sc. (Hort.),
B. Sc. (Forestry), B. Sc. (Home Science) and B.
F. Sc. Degree courses.
Weightage of five percent marks will be given to
Farmer's Sons /Daughters /Brothers /Sisters
/Grand sons /Grand daughters subject to
production of certificate (7-12 record) from a
competent authority for having held land in
Gujarat under cultivation by himself/herself,
his /her father, his/her mother, his/her grand
father (parental), his / her grand mother
(parental) and his/her brother subject to the
fulfillment of minimum qualification required
for admission in all under graduate degree
course except B. Tech. (Agril. Engg.)
Weightage of five per cent marks for agriculture
subjects will be given to the students of Higher
Secondary Vocational Stream in Agriculture as
well as to the students of Higher Secondary post
basic stream who have passed Higher Secondary
School Certificate Examiniation with Agriculture
subjects for admission in B. Sc. (Agril.) B. Sc.
(Hort.) and B. Sc. (Forestry) degree courses
only.
Weightage of 15 per cent marks will be given to
fishing community. Fish Farmer's Sons /Sisters
/Brothers /Daughters /Grand Sons /Grand
Daughters who are domicile of Gujarat State
Subject to the production of Certificate from a
Assistant Director, Fisheries Department of
Gujarat State for having fishing business or
fish production for admission in B. F. Sc.
degree course only.
Weightage of five per cent of the total marks
for the Home science subjects or Agriculture
subjects will be given to the students of Higher
Secondary Vocational Stream in Home Science or
Agriculture or Post Basic. OR
Weightage of five per cent of total marks will
also be given to farmers daughter /sisters
/grand daughters subject to the production of
certificate from a competent authority for
having held land under cultivation by her father
or her mother or her grand mother.
Weightage to the Sportmen/Women in admission to
all Under-Graduate courses will be given as
under :
(i) Participation at the International Level 7%
(ii) Participation at the National level /All
India level 1 %(a) Secured 1st position 5% (b)
Secured 2nd position
3% (c) Secured 3rd position 2%.
(iii) Participation at the State level and (a)
Secured 1 st position 1% (b) Secured 2nd
position 0.5%. "The student will get this
benefit once during his I her university
career."
The minimum age requirement of a candidate on
first day of July of the year in which admission
is sought to the study course shall be 16 years.
This age limit may be relaxed by the Admission
Committee as a special case for candidates
having exceptionally bright career.
The medium of Instruction and Examination will
be English.
Candidate will be interviewed by the admission
committee as specified (i) above for physical
fitness verifications original Mark sheet,
certificate etc. before provisional admission
and registration. These candidates shall be
required to produce a Medical Certificate of
physical fitness in the form prescribed by the
university from a registered medical
practitiones with the application form. In case
of need tney Will also be examined by the
University Medical Officer.
(a) Physical fitness standard for admission to
B. Sc. (Forestry) shall be as per the Forest
Department of Govt. of Gujarat for the
recruitment of Forester, Forest Guard and Range
Forest Officer.
(b) For admission to B. F. Sc. Physical Fitness
qualiffcation shall be considered slightly lower
than that of Fisheries Department.
Ten per cent extra candidate may be admitted
over the total seats at the stage of admission
from the merit list with a view to balance the
likely shortfall in the total seats on account
of the candidates who may leave the study course
after paying fees.
7% of total seats at the stage of admission
shall be reserved for the candidates, belonging
to Scheduled Caste and 13+1% seats shall be
earmarked for the candidates belonging to
Scheduled Tribe / Nomedic Tribes and Denotified
Tribes. Reservation of these seats shall be
inter changeable among SC/ST candidates in all
the faculties except B. V. Sc. & A. H.
27% of the total seats shall be reserved for
those candidates who fall under the category of
Socially and Educationally backward communities
as defined by the Baxi Commission and Mandal
Panch.
15% of total seats shall be reserved for the
candidates nominated by the Indian Council of
Agricultural Research of the different courses
offered by this University, Subject to the
condition that they fulfil the minimum
requirement for admission.
(a) For B. Sc. (Agri.) course 10 seats are
reserved for nomiees of Donor Sheth Amrutlal
Hargovinddas Trust & 3 Seats for nominees of
Donor Sheth Mansukhlal Chhaganlal Trust
Candidate at B. A. College of Agriculture,
Anand.
(b) One seat or 5% seats for B. Sc. /(Hort.)
course are reserved for nominees of Donor ASPEE
AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
FOUNDATION. Bombay at ASPEE College of
Horticulture and Forestry, Navsarf Provided they
fulfil the minimum qualification for admission.
For B. F. Sc. degree course at least 3 out of 25
seats that is 12% seats shalr be reserved for
Fish Farmers / Sons without any overlapping for
double benefits to that
The candidates who passed the Central Board of
Secondary Education Examina- tion. Delhi from
the institutions of Gujarat State in 10 + 2
pattern with Mathematics, IPhysics, Chemistry,
Biology as the case may be with English and who
fulfil the requirements as stated in the
regulation shall be admitted on prorata basis to
the candidates passed the Gujarat Secondary
Education Board with the Minimum pre- scribed
standard of Admission for the respective
faculties.
A candidate availing himself /herself of
reserved seat as above shall be required to
produce a certificate that he /she belonging to
a particular group of backward class -from the
competent authority of the State.
No candidate availing of any of reserved seats
shown as above or enjoying any concessions in
admission shall however will not be eligible to
get more than one advantage of relaxation in
minimum qualification at the same time.
In the event of some or all reserved seats
specified as above remaining vacant due to less
number of application from eligible candidates,
they shall be considered as open seat and will
be filled in, in order of merit from the general
list of candidates.

Qualification Required |
The candidates should have passed higher
secondary school Certificate Examination in
Science stream with English, Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and Mathematics with 35 percent marks in
aggregate of all the subjects of Higher
Secondary School Certificate Examination from
any statutory University/Board in Gujarat State
or Examination recognised as equivalent there to
by the University or equivalent OGPA. Candidates
who have passed Higher Secondary Examination
with vocational stream in Agriculture as well as
from Higher Secondary Post Basic Stream be also
admitted with 35 per cent marks in aggregate of
all subject and having English, Mathematics,
Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.
Weightage of five percentage marks will be given
to farmer's son/daughter/brothers/sisters/ grand
sons/ grand daughters subject to production of
current certificate (7-12) from a competent
authority for having held land in Gujarat under
cultivation by himself/ herself, his/ her
father. his/ her mother. his/ her grand father
(parental), his/ her grand mother (parental) and
his/ her brother subject to the fulfilment of
minimum qualification required for admission as
above.

subjects will be given to the students of Higher
Secondary vocational stream in Agriculture as
well as to the stream who have passed Higher
secondary School Certificate Examination with
Agriculture subject for admission in B. Sc. (Agri.)

SEPARATE APPLICATION FORM SHOULD BE FILLED IN
FOR EACH DEGREE COURSE.
All entries in this form must be made legibly by
candidate himself/herself in his/her own
handwriting.
Application form duly filled in all respects
should be forwarded to the DEPUTY REGISTRAR.
GUJARAT AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY, SARDAR
KRUSHINAGAR -385506 as to reach on or before the
last date notified. Late applications will not
be attended .
Students comming from other Universities will
have to obtain Eligibility Certificate after
admission.
Backward class candidates should attach
certificate of Scheduled Caste/ Tribe. S. E. B.
C. (with Crimiliar Certificate) category from
District Social Welfare Officer of concerned
district.
Candidates who are called for admission or for
interview will be intimated immedi- ately and
accordingly he/she has to report for admission
within prescribed date otherwise his/her
admission will stand cancelled. If the
university finds at the time of allotting final
registration number or at any time that the
applicant is not fulfilling the requisite
qualifications and/ or requirements for
admission, his/ her admission shall stand
cancelled.
The candidate shall be required to produce a
medical certificate from a registered Medical
Officer of his/ her Physical Fitness in the
prescribed form attached with the application.
Staying in the college hostel is compulsory.
Candidate will have to apply separately for
hostel admission after joining college. The
principal may permit to stay outside the hostel
in exceptional/genuine cases only.
Fees once paid will not be refunded under any
circumstances. No correspondence in this regard
shall be entertained.
In order to obtain acknowledgement of the
receipt of the application form from the
University, candidates are advised to send their
application by registered post ac- knowledgement
due. No separate acknowledgement receipt will be
issued.
The ICAR nominees will be considered for
admission which are recommended by the ICAR.
The University shall not be responsible for the
delay or non delivery of any letters to the
candidates by postal department.
