NSS Activities: The overall aim of National Service Scheme in educational institution is to give an extended dimension to the higher education system and orient the young students to community service while they are studying. The reason for the formulation of this objective is the general realization that the college and +2 level students have a tendency to get alienated from the village/slum areas which constitute the majority of the population of the country. The educated youth expected to take the reins of administration in future are found to be unaware of the problems of village/slum community and its problems. Therefore, it is necessary to arouse the social conscience of the students, and to provide them an opportunity to work with the people in the village and slums. It is felt that their interaction with the common villages and slum dwellers will expose them to the realities of life and bring about a change in their social perception. 40 volunteers are enrolled regularly under National Service scheme of College of Agricultural information technology. The volunteers are assigned two types of activities

7 days programme of developmental activities in the adopted village

Tree plantation, celebration of national days pulse polio immunization, cleaning campaign, poster competition, wasteland development, blood donation, thalassemia testing, eye check-up camps, personality development programmes etc.
