Agricultural Engineering

INTRODUCTION

The Agricultural engineering is the discipline that applies engineering science and technology to agricultural production and processing. Agricultural engineering combines the disciplines of mechanical, civil, electrical and chemical engineering principles with the knowledge of agricultural principles

Department of Agricultural Engineering is one of the important components of College of Agriculture, Vaso. The Department is engaged in teaching, research and extension activities at undergraduate and polytechnic level.

MANDATES / OBJECTIVES

To impart basic, applied and adaptive education leading to a development, improvement of equipment, technology, process for better crop production, irrigation and drainage, post-harvest technology and processing, and energy-use in agriculture & rural industries at UG and diploma level

  • To conduct basic, applied and adaptive research in field of agricultural engineering for the development of technologies and recommendations for the farmers, entrepreneurs and scientific community.
  • Transfer of the technologies and latest know-how to farmers, entrepreneurs and scientific community through various means of extension
