  •  With the diagnosis of occurrence of khaira disease in rice due to Zn deficiency, ICAR started    " RESEARCH ON MICRONUTRIENTS "
  •  In order to assess the micronutrient status of soils of India and to carry out related studies, the centre was started in September, 1967 at 9 centers in the country
  •  Western Region : Anand
  •  From the VIIth Five Year Plan onwards, the objectives of the centre were broadened by incorporating research on secondary nutrients and pollutant elements in soils and plants.
