:

Jabugam campus is located at Bodeli – Chhotaudepur highway. It is 85 km away from Vadodara and 8 km from Bodeli. It falls under Bodeli taluka of newly formed Chhotaudepur district of Gujarat.

Vadodara to Jabugam by Bus: Buses between Vadodara to Jabugam are available in every half an hour. On an average, Vadodara to Jabugam travel time is 2 hours.

Vadodara to Jabugam by Train:Passenger train is available between Vadodara to Jabugam. Average travel time is 2 hours.

Purpose for establishment of Research Station

:

To produce the seed of improved varieties of different crops for the farmers of surrounding areas as well as research on crops like banana, maize, green gram, black gram, chick pea, pearl millet etc.

Introduction

:

The Jabugam Farm, previously known as seed farm was started since long back in 1958-59 and was working under District Panchayat. Later on in Sept. 2000, it was handed over to Revenue Department of Gujarat State. Finally in February, 2009, this Farm was handed over to Anand Agricultural University. Agricultural Research Station, Jabugam is located in the basin area of Bharaj, Mania and Orsang river, as a result the water table of the area is quite shallow (12 m). Banana, cotton and maize are the major crops of surrounding area.

Importance of centre

:

Banana scheme is running under the research station, Quality seed production like…castor GCH 7 & 9, Paddy GAR 13, GAR 14, GR 101, Black gram Shyamal, Sweet corn Madhuram, Maize GAYMH 1 &  3, Green gram GAM 5, Haramoti, Groundnut GG 34,  etc… for farmers as well as research purpose.
