Objectives

A.I.C.R.P. on Poultry Breeding (Eggs) (B.H. No.2305)

     i.     Improvement in IWN & IWP strains.

    ii.     To maintain IWD and IWK strains                                                                                    iii.     The centre will participate with IWN x IWP cross in the random sample poultry performance test being conducted by Govt. of India in each generation.

   iv.     To develop location specific chicken varieties and their dissemination for village poultry.

    v.     Conservation, improvement, characterization and application of local native and elite layer and broiler germplasm.

    vi.     To develop package of practices for village poultry and entrepreneurships in rural, tribal and backyard areas etc.

            Development and maintenance of different population  of Poultry (B.H. No.12388)

1.                  Maintenance of Random bred control population  

2.                  Maintenance of Anand Bantamised White Leghorn

3.                  Establishment of native germplasm of fowl of Gujarat.

Central Poultry Research Station (B.h. No.5301)

Maintenance  and improvement of Anand Synthetic White Leghorn

             Poultry Training Centre (B.H. No. 5255) and

Upgrading of Poultry Training Centre (B.H. No.12315)

1. To provide training to rural youth for self employment in poultry production

     programmes.

2. To train man power for various organized poultry farmers co-op. society,

     Panchayats etc.

3. To create infrastructural facilities for training of students.

4. To create need of imparting theoretical education and intensive practical

     training to  poultry farmers.

Poultry Feed Manufacturing Unit (B.H. No.3315)

1.   Production & supply of balanced poultry rations for catering the need of various schemes of Poultry Science Department and other Agricultural Universities of the State

2.   Computation of various types of balance poultry rations including         incorporation of unconventional feed ingredients by least cost poultry feed formulation technique.

3.   Imparting training to the students for preparing economically balanced poultry  

       feeds.
