A.     Research Projects On going :

1.   A.I.C.R.P. On Poultry Breeding for Eggs (BH-2305)

Objectives:

a.      Improvement in IWN & IWP and maintenance of IWD and IWK strains.

b.      To participate with IWN x IWP cross in the random sample poultry performance test being conducted by Govt. of India in each generation.

c.      To develop location specific chicken varieties and their dissemination for village poultry.

d.      Conservation, improvement, characterization and application of local native and elite layer germplasm.

e.      To develop package of practices for village poultry and entrepreneurships in rural, tribal and backyard areas etc.

2.   Central Poultry Research Station (BH-5301)

Objectives:

a.       To maintain egg weight above 55 gm at and above 40 weeks in Anand Synthetic White Leghorn.

b.       To improve upon annual egg production in Anand Synthetic White Leghorn.

c.       To carry out need base experiment.

3.   Development and Maintenance Of Different Population Of Poultry (BH-12388)

Objectives:

a.       Maintenance of Random Bred Control Population of Poultry for eggs.

b.       Establishment of native germplasm of fowl of Gujarat.

c.       Maintenance of “Anand Bantamized White Leghorn” and supply to needy breeders and farmers.
