Agriculture Research Station, Sansoli

The land of Sansoli farm was Gauchar and it was under Gram Panchayat. The first the land was acquired from the mamlatdar, Mehmadavad through Collector, Kheda (Nadiad). Finally, this farm was handed over to the Anand Agricultural University in February, 2009.

The Sansoli farm is also known as “Chitrakut”. It is well connected through state highway on the Ahmedabad-Mehmadavad road 22 km away from the Ahmedabad and it is 45 km away from Anand Agricultural University, Anand head quarter. The site has GSRTC bus depot within 5 km and local bus stop within 1 km. The local train railway Ahmedabad- Mumbai stoppage is Nenpur which is only 3 km away from the site. The Ahmedabad railway station is 25 km and international airport is 35 km away. The Sansoli is located between two rivers Vatrak and Mashvo so there is sufficient amount underground water. The soils are sandy loam (alluvial type) and medium in fertility in the soil is well suitable for agriculture purpose.

MANDATE OF FARM

  1. To produce the seed of improved varieties of different crops viz., paddy, wheat, Bajri, castor, cotton and vegetables.
  2. To prepare seedlings/graftings of vegetables crops and horticulture crops using green house technology.
  3. To sale seeds/seedlings/cutting to the farmers on premium price through Taluka co-operative Society and co-operative society at village levels.
  4. To provide technologies of seed production, seedlings/grafting and green house technology to the farmers through extension officers.
  5. To prepare integrated farming system model and testing and give practical knowledge and guidance to the farmers for implement the developed model.
