POLYTECHNIC IN AGRICULTURE, VASO The certificate course on Diploma in Agriculture was in operation since 1957 at North Coat Cattle Breeding Farm at Chharodi ( Ta : Sanand, Dist : Ahmedabad), which was the part of Institute of Agriculture, Anand. Subsequently in 1972 it became a part of Gujarat Agricultural University till 2004. Since 01-04-2004 it was part of Anand Agricultural University. In eleventh five year plan, Polytechnic in Agriculture was decided to start at Vaso.

Polytechnic in Agriculture is located at Vaso village, Taluka, Nadiad, District, Kheda of Gujarat State. It is 35 Km away from Anand Agricultural University, Anand, 15 Km from Nadiad Taluka place and 50 Km from Ahmedabad. Vaso is one of the historical place and progressive village in Kheda District having about 10,000 populations. The 20 hectares of the land was acquired from the Vaso Gram Panchayat. This land was under the possession of the Forest Department and was cultivated under the Social Forestry Scheme. Therefore, Department of Forest is removing the trees and tress in the half part of the land owned by the Gram Panchayat Vaso and the removal of the trees in this land is under process. The construction of the compound wall of acquired land is under the process. The half part of the compound wall is already constructed. The estimate of College building, offices, laboratories, hostel, staff quarters etc. are in progress.

MANDATE OF FARM

1. To start three year Diploma in Agriculture.
2. To impart training to rural youth to improve their technical know how and skill with respect to agriculture and its allied activities theoretically as well as practically.
3. To conduct vocational training programmes for agricultural sector for the youth of the region.
4. To develop HRD in Agriculture.
5. To conduct the vocational training programmes for the tribal youth.
