Introduction

 

Farm Technology Training Centre (FTTC) - Nenpur came in to existence under the plan scheme “Strengthening of Farm Technology Training Centre” (B. H.: 12993-00) and started functioning since 20th of July, 2012 under the jurisdiction of Anand Agricultural University, Anand. The centre is situated on border of Kheda district. It is 6 km away from Mahemdabad taluka and 27 km away from Ahmedabad. FTTC has sufficient infrastructure with administrative building. Out of 2 sanctioned posts at present both are filled up.

Kheda district of Gujarat is known as the land of the “Golden Leaf”. The district is situated in the middle part of Gujarat State. The district has 08 talukas with Nadiad (district headquarter) Mahemdabad, Kapadwanj, Matar and Kheda being the well developed talukas. The total geographical area of the district is 3,946 km2 (3, 94,589 ha.). The district lies between 22.30°N to 23.10°N latitude and 72.30°E to 73.34°E longitudes situated at 32-35 meters above sea level. In general, the soil of Kheda district is Goradu. The annual rainfall of the district is 857 mm.

Agriculture and Animal husbandry is the main source of livelihood for the rural people of district. Under the present circumstances diversification through various enterprises like horticulture, dairy, poultry processing and preservation has become the essential alternative to the future time to come. The intervention in human resources for improvement in entrepreneurial activities in rural youths for self employment particularly with SHG & marketing skills is the need of the hour.
