The Training and Visit Scheme was introduced in Gujarat in 10 districts during 1978-79 and entire state except Kutch district was covered in 1979-80. Since 1979-80, the scheme is operating in Gujarat Agricultural University then the Anand Agricultural University from May 1, 2004. 

            Earlier, Anand Agricultural University had two centres of Training and Visit scheme,  at Anand and  Vadodara, upto January 2007. Training and Visit scheme, AAU, Vadodara was closed and now only one centre in Anand Agricultural University for all nine districts to impart training to the line department officers.
