Tribal Training, Dahod

Tribal Training, Dahod

Training Centre for Tribal Farmer, farm women and Youths was started in the year 1980-81 for the overall development of tribal farmers of Dahod district. The main aim was to transfer improved technologies to the tribal farmers, farm women and rural youths in agriculture and its allied subjects. The tribals are trained in various subjects i.e. agriculture, livestock production, home science etc. Trainings are conducted to unskilled tribal farmers and to motivate them for adoption modern farm technologies.

The scheme on “Agri Polyclinic” was initiated under the “Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana” for the tribal farmers at Dahod during 2008.  The objective of the scheme envisages imparting training to the tribal farmers, farm women and rural youth through KVK, FTC, ICRISAT, NGO and various extension functionaries. Its main objective is to motivate the youth and farmers for the entrepreneurship and develop water storage structure as well as dairy co-operative. The crop production is mostly affected by the biotic and abiotic factors. In biotic factor insect pest and disease significantly affect the crop production. There is lack of pest / disease / disorder diagnostic services in Dahod area. So the schemes gain more importance in this area. Under changing scenario of pest / diseases / disorders problems, there is need to diagnose the same by the experts in well equipped laboratory.
