The unit is working on different aspects of Reproductive Biology/Biotechnology of farm animals like Surti buffalo with special emphases on endocrinological aspects during different phases of reproduction. Study on augmentation of reproductive efficiency through management, hormonal therapy and other related aspects were taken up. Embryo transfer work of cattle, buffalo and goats have also been taken up. These all works are taken up as per the technical programme of various plan, non-plan and Adhoc schemes of GAU/AAU, ICAR, PL-480 (USA), Ford foundation, BARC-DAE etc.

Research Activities.

v     Long term and short term feeding experiments are being carried out to know the nutritional requirement of various categories of animals.

v     The work on augmentation and utilization of new agro industrial byproducts and waste materials for livestock and poultry.

Achievements:

Since 2004 till date 47 recommendations useful for farmers community are generated out of the research work carried out in the department.
