Genesis

The history of Polytechnic in Agriculture, Vaso might be traced back to the arrival Tata Motors in Gujarat in year 2008 and even before in year 1957. Under the aegis of Institute of Agriculture, Anand, a certificate course of Diploma in Agriculture was offered at North Cot Cattle Breeding Farm at Chharodi of Tehsil Sanand of District Ahmedabad since 1957. Subsequently, it became the part of Gujarat Agricultural University (GAU) in 1972. Again in 2004, the Government of Gujarat split GAU into four agricultural universities with their headquarters in Anand, Navsari, Junagadh, and Sardar Krushinagar. Since May 01, 2004, Chharodi campus became the part of Anand Agricultural University, Anand.

In 2008, the Diploma Agricultural School, Chharodi was shifted to its main headquarter at AAU, Anand. In the exchange of land of Chharodi, the Government of Gujarat provided 20 hectares of the land near Vaso village for the established of Polytechnic in Agriculture. Anand Agricultural University started education program of Polytechnic in Agriculture at Vaso campus from the academic year 2010-11. The first batch had total 34 students. Instantaneously, the building of Polytechnic in Agriculture started taking place. Since the work for the building was in progress, the classes for the polytechnic course were held in a school named “Shri Vasundhara Sanskar Vidhyadham”, Vaso from August 01, 2010 to June 01, 2012.
