National Cadet Corps (NCC) Girls
National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth – ‘The Leaders of Tomorrow’ – into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The genesis of the NCC can be traced back to the First World War when the Britishers created the University Corps as the second line of defense and to have a large pool of trained youth available for employment into the Armed Forces. Various training camps in NCC provides platform to the cadets to experience the activities carried out in defense. With a view to giving a equal platform to girl students B.A.College of Agriculture has started Girls wing of NCC in October 2017.

The Girls NCC unit of BACA is attached with 4 Gujarat Girls Battalion, NCC, V. V. Nagar. The unit consists of one platoon of 65 cadets. A parade is conducted regularly every Saturday from 0800 to 1200. The Girl cadets participate in various camps like Annual Training Camp, Combined Annual Training Camp, Advanced Leadership, Army Attachment, National Integration, etc. Cadets are given training through theory and practical sessions for ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates examinations of NCC. Apart from that they are also being trained for various self defense training , adventurous activities and social activities via NCC.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The overall aim of National Service Scheme in educational institution is to give an extended dimension to the higher education system and orient the young students to community service while they are studying. The reason for the formulation of this objective is the general realization that the college and +2 level students have a tendency to get alienated from the village/slum areas which constitute the majority of the population of the country. The educated youth expected to take the reins of administration in future are found to be unaware of the problems of village/slum community and its problems. Therefore, it is necessary to arouse the social conscience of the students, and to provide them an opportunity to work with the people in the village and slums. It is felt that their interaction with the common villages and slum dwellers will expose them to the realities of life and bring about a change in their social perception.

100 volunteers are enrolled regularly under National Service scheme of B. A. College of Agriculture. The volunteers are assigned two types of activities - the special one is 7 days programme of developmental activities in the adopted village and the routine ones are tree plantation, celebration of national days pulse polio immunization, cleaning campaign, poster competition, wasteland development, blood donation, thalassemia testing, eye check-up camps, personality development programmes etc.
