- Seed multiplication of different high yielding varieties of transplanted paddy on large scale to fulfill the requirement of the farmers of the state on no profit-no-loss basis.
- Implementing breeding programme for short duration drilled paddy varieties.
- Implementing breeding programme for development of multiresistant transplanted paddy varieties.
- Dissemination of newly developed technology on the farmer’s field through demonstrations.
- To develop Agro-technology for different crops/ cropping systems.
- To reduce cultivation cost by using organic residues like FYM, Vermicompost & culture and thereby minimizing chemical fertilizer cost.
- To findout water requirement of different crops and suggest ways to reduce irrigation water requirement.
- Conjunctive use of surface and under ground water.
- Impact of irrigation on change in soil characteristics, water table and secondary salinization as well as helping the farmers of the surrounding area by analyzing their field soil sample and providing soil health card of it.
